As an answer to Glassgirl´s question: Yes, I did the grid first, drew random squares and rectangles on the whole page of my sketchbook, and then filled them one by one.

Loved the grid. It makes me think of comic books.....

I like the idea of breaking it up with a grid, because at times, I want to draw more than one thing, but I end up miscalculating the size of each "thing"

I've seen you and other's using the grids or boxes to do the small sketches. I hadn't tried that but did so for the first time this weekend. You're right. It's a good way to get into sketching, without having to face an entire blank page! Love your piece, btw!

Nina, I love your grid - the variation in square size, the full use of the space and the color. I did a grid with one square per day for a trip we made to Italy and really enjoyed doing something small in addition to full page sketches each day.
