Here we go again...

Yep. We´re moving again. Third time in about a year. We hate it, but we are getting good at it. But this is the last time. The Great Renovation Era of our neighborhood is ending and we are looking forward to some fantastic years ahead in a New apartment, with a New balcony and a New kitchen. We are slowly entering the No Smoking Loudmouthed Bob The Builder Outside Our Window At Six In The Mornings Era. Life will be good. This blog may be a bit neglected in the next two weeks or so, though, but I will be back. Promise.

13,5 x 21 cm. Faber Castell pen (see previous post) and Faber Castell drawing ink on sketchbook page.

I wish you some calm times ahead, my friend!
But you made the most of the drawing opportunity. So that's a plus.

Sorry to see you having to move. So often too. I hate moving. I like my moving to be to the field to draw and paint. Nice work on the moving boxes, nevertheless. The Faber Castell look s like an interesting pen. I think short trips with the Lamy are fine, but longer travel, having to carry a bottle of ink, is no fun. Hope the move goes smooth for you!

Terrific drawing, as always. Very good luck with your new home!! Hope you'll get enough help to move & carry all those boxes, hehehe. Best wishes. Martín.

Great job on the boxes, Nina!I can't imagine how you still found the time for an intricate drawing like this?
Good luck with the moving, I hope it all goes smooth and that the thought of your new home will keep your chin up during this time.

This sketch is really good! We have to move, too. We bought a new house and the thought of moving is just so daunting! Good luck to you! :)

Your hatching is great - it's something I really need to practise. Excited to have discovered your blog and the sketchbooks on your website. Good luck with the move!

This drawing, as usual, is wonderful... the shading is perfect... just right for showing us all the boxes.

Best wishes with the move. After the third time you should be pretty lite ... having eleminated much of the clutter one insists on collecting.

Moving would be fine if you could just snap your fingers and get to the new place instantly. I like unpacking at the other end,but the disruption to life is awful. I hope things get back to normal soon. I hope you find time to keep drawing, I'm always interested in the results.

Congratulations, Nina, the "new" home sounds wonderful. I hate moving too, but a fresh start...lovely. You've even made boxes look good...

I really like the way you captured what looks like light pouring into the room with the boxes all white on one side. Good luck in your new home!

I love this drawing. I like the angles and the simplicity of the lines but it still has a lot of depth. Very nice! To answer your question about the pinstriping, it actually started in the 20's as a way to personalize horse carriages and guns. Then as cars became a more popular mode of transportation, it kind of died out until its revival in the 50's. A lot of people credit Kenneth Howard "Von Dutch" with coming up with the idea to pinstripe cars. Pinstriping is basically just a series of lines that make up one entire design. I'm not really sure where the name pinstriper came from, but today it's still a very popular medium. It has extended from cars into just about anything you can think of. Some of my jobs have been bags, cars, scuba tanks, wallets. The sky is the limit on this one. Hopefully that answered some of your questions?
