Purple

A little more experimental this time. This is part of the old stable by the Guesthouse in the last post. No horses on the island these days, they have a few hotel rooms and some other functions in this building now.

20 x 20 cm, pencil and watercolours on Saunders Waterford watercolour paper.

Nina, I am absolutely LOVING these. The contrast with the realistic and atmospheric landscape with the wildly abstract, flowing, splashy (foreground?) is just so eye-catching and involving...

Nina, I'm right there with Kate - these paintings are stunning! I love the looseness of them juxtaposed with the realism. nancy

Really enjoying this series of buildings. Keep them coming!

On a side note, have you ever consider videotaping yourself while you paint one these? I'd love to watch how you work.

Your paintings are awesome! I'd like to be more descriptive, but words fail me.

I have enjoyed looking at your latest paintings. I like how they have details in certain areas, and in other areas there are loose washes of color.

I've just went through your blog - you watercolors are adorable! I really love this one, its composition, the bottom, almost abstract, part. Great job!
