Me

I look like a real snob here, don´t I? I had the mirror on a table below me when I drew this, hence the strange angle on the nose and eyes.

Self portraits are amusing. You always end up with a half decent/half wonky image of yourself, that most people can recognize and that EVERYBODY can see something wrong with - but they don´t dare to tell you since they don´t want to hurt your feelings, either about you drawing badly or about how you actually look. ;)

You always get a certain concentrated, almost mad, look in your eyes when you draw yourself. I also get that fine looking angry wrinkle in my forehead. :)

12.5 x 15 cm, dip pen and Pelikan Burnt Sienna ink on Fabriano Artistico hot press paper.

Well, I think you look cute! It is a difficult angle and you really caught it perfectly!

I think it is great! My self portraits are always laughing, because I start to giggle when I draw my mouth ;)

I think the angle is FUN...great sketch....oh reminds me of chuck close exhibit at the high a couple of years ago...he found he was his own cheapest and best model...but yours is MUCH nicer...his can have TOO much detail..yours is perfect!!

LOVELY sketch...

Your haircut looks cool despite the weird perspective ;)

Love this! I like your line work. I enjoy self-portraits that don't have the strange stare that comes from close observation. You have managed to work without getting the strange eyes.... You have an interesting expression in this- I like it!

I think you did an excellent job - a lot of character comes through. You look a bit amused, or maybe it's bemused...

they are hard to do but fun also. I think the 'tense' look I get is because I'm concentrating so much! You did great on this self portrait......I have the same forehead wrinkle!!!

Great angle on this self portrait.
When I do a self portrait, I'm reminded just how intense the looking is...and how that is directed at my"victims" of train drawings. No wonder people get up and move.
Anyway, great line quality on this one.

This is wonderful, Nina. The ink color is great for skin tone.

Good work- you captured what you saw not what you think should be there (my common mistake). The angle makes it a unique portrait.
