Self portrait

Time for an update. I fell in love with my Staedtler triplus fineliners again, took them out for a spin on paper this evening. Self portraits are always disasters, aren´t they... I can´t ever seem to get the mouth right. Among other things. Anyhow, here I am. Or some sort of version of me.

12.5 x 15.5 cm, Staedtler triplus fineliners on Fabriano Artistico hot press paper.

I don't think it's a disaster at all though I know how you feel about self portraits. Maybe it's time I did mine again!

How lovely you look! Nice to "see" you in person finally -- One of these days I'm going to have to try one of these.

I read somewhere the proper definition of "portrait" it said:

"A portrait is a drawing of a person in which there is something not quite right about the mouth"

I think this is great --I love the colors and line work -

we are always so intense when we are drawing ourselves. I rather like that even though self portraits are not the most flattering. I am drawn to your expressive eyes in this sketch. Well done!

Wonderful! I love the sepia (?) color here.

Cool drawing, Nina - I certainly wouldn't call it a disaster! I wish I could do that with line....

they are a nightmare in so many ways...quite an emotional experience too!
You have reminded me of my triplus, must do something with them.
