Värmland

This is where we spent our two days in Värmland - in a small red cottage with white corners, the archetype of Swedishness. The weather was fantastic, Swedish summer at it´s best, and the only thing that disturbed the idyll was the fact that I can´t spend more than 24 hours in a place like this before my allergy goes berserk.

18 x 15 cm, Copic Multiliner SP and watercolours on Fabriano Artistico hot press watercolour paper.

Beautiful - especially the red of the house in the overall composition!

Looks like you've painted a little piece of heaven, Nina. As usual I love the touch you bring with shadows.

How miserably you have to suffer an allergy though.

What a great place to stay--beautiful work. Allergies do run our lives I think, as they can't be ignored...

Beautiful painting!

Very timely also. I am reading "Gösta Berling's saga" from Selma Lagerlöf and it is great to have a glimpse of how Värmland looks like.
Has it changed a lot from Lagerlöf's time?

hej nina.
kram.
