Every day in May no. 5

Just a tiny drawing today, not even a whole page of the Moleskine watercolor sketchbook (the small one). Hard pencil is not the right tool for the paper in the Molie. I added some stronger darks with a softer one at the end, but of course the grainy watercolor paper isn´t ideal for pencil drawings at all.

I find it harder and harder to work in this small format. I suspected when I bought the small Moleskine quite a while ago, that it would be too small for me. I was right, I had not used more than three pages in it before I started with this May-challenge. I had no plan to do all the May drawings in it but now that I have started using it, I might as well go on.

Nina- I can really relate to not being comfortable working in a small sketchbook. This has been a problem for me the last couple of weeks, but I refuse to give in and get a new sketchbook until I complete the one I've started. Oh well.

It's amazing what a difference the size of a piece of paper makes.

I'm really enjoying your everyday in May sketches. I especially like the soft quality of these shoes.

It's a really delightful little sketch. There is a real sense of height with the straps, they feel as if you could touch them.

This is a lovely - or as felicity said delightful - sketch.

Such a lovely drawing, these shoes are so well done. I agree with you, the small moleskine is SO small, there is no way I can draw in it any more, I now use mine for lists!
